PREPARATIONS for Leicester’s senior opener are continuing – with four Coventry riders now confirmed for the East Midlands Bowl on April 11.
The Easter Saturday clash with their homeless local rivals will give the Watling JCB Lions important, competitive track-time ahead of the start of the Championship season.
And the Bees will certainly be a force to be reckoned with as, along with former Lions skipper Scott Nicholls, fellow Coventry legend Chris Harris has now been added to their line-up.
The two British riders were a major part of many successful Bees teams over a decade and more, and their presence ensures strong competition for the Lions’ heat-leaders.
Coventry will also be tracking Ben Barker, himself a spectacular performer on his day, and in addition their team includes the popular Adam Roynon, who will be making another comeback from injury.
Roynon has been out of action since breaking his arm at the Isle of Wight some 20 months ago, but having regained fitness he is now looking to work his way back into the sport.
The EMB clash is the first senior meeting of 2020 at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena – but track action commences on Saturday March 28 when the Roger Webster Lion Cubs face Belle Vue in the National League, with press and practice scheduled for Tuesday March 31.
